Ideal storage temperature: 65°F // 18°C Best before date : The date on the box is a best before date and not an expiry date. The best before date is a deadline for an optimal use, after which the products’ organoleptic properties begin degrading
Storage conditions: Chocolate is best kept in dry and cool premises, away from direct light. If you need to refrigerate chocolate, seal it in an airtight container, to protect it against the refrigerator's humidity. If not stored properly you may experience Chocolate Bloom.
Chocolate Bloom: Chocolate bloom is the whitish coating that can appear on the surface of chocolate. It doesn't affect the taste of your chocolate. It doesn’t look pretty, but it still tastes yummy. Bloom does not mean your chocolate has gone bad, rather it has just been stored improperly. Fat bloom occurs when the chocolate has been through a drastic change in temperatures. If you place your chocolate in the freezer or fridge, it could possibly experience bloom.
Refrigerated chocolate: Before eating chocolate that has been refrigerated, always allow it to come to room temperature first. If eaten too cold the chocolate will not melt nor disperse flavors as nicely.
